The seven weeks between Pesach and Shevuot are called Sefirat HaOmer because of the Torah commandment to count the days and weeks between these two festivals. They are known to be a time of tremendous spiritual potential.
After cleansing ourselves by the removal of physical and spiritual Chametz (leavening), we concentrate on rebuilding and growth – gradually moving through the seven levels, over the course of seven weeks, as outlined in the Kabbalah.
This would be an auspicious time to begin a short weekly commitment to Jewish learning, and Rabbi Greg’s new Monday night class is just the opportunity to explore your spiritual potential by delving into the classic methods of our sages.
And, as always, the class will be followed by a concert, slam poetry or theater event.
